Charis Ann Argento

Charis Ann Argento passed Tuesday, June 29, 2021 at home surrounded by family. Charis was 75. She was born in Bremerton, WA in 1945. Her parents Nelson Durant and Cecile (Ceil) had relocated to Washington from New York State during World War II. She grew up in Glens Falls and Fort Ann, NY before attending State University of New York (SUNY) in Plattsburgh. She married and started a family in Manlius, NY. Charis moved to Ventura County in 1973. She initially lived at the Thacher School in Ojai where she learned tennis, her life-long joy. The game introduced her to her husband Dan Argento through a 3M employee tennis group. After 3M, she became a planner for local Ventura-area technology companies including Harris, Vitesse, Pacific Sod, Ossur and SL Power, from where she retired in 2009. After and before retirement she played in USTA events around Southern California and represented the Las Posas Country Club in Camarillo at tennis events. She also kept and grew her many close friendships with her bridge and tennis partners at Las Posas. After retirement, Charis and Dan enjoyed their home, her beautiful flowers and annual visits to see the states and exploring Europe. She is survived by her husband Dan Argento of Camarillo, her sisters Gayle Durant of Hemet and Denise Flewelling of Fort Ann and brother Bryan Durant of Glens Falls; her children Sean and Brett and stepchildren Donna, Julie and Ryan; her grandchildren -- and biggest joys -- Carys in Manhattan, NY; Violet and Kevin in Redondo Beach.
