Albert Carl Lorenzana

Albert Carl Lorenzana Sr. passed away Wednesday morning, November 18th, 2020. Born in Santa Barbara on December 2nd, 1925 to Nellie and Victor Lorenzana Sr., his family later moved to Ventura where he would remain a longtime resident. Albert spoke fondly of simpler times growing up in what was known as the Tortilla Flats neighborhood. Being a child of the Great Depression, it taught him the value of hard work and planning ahead. He served in the US Navy during World War II, was a member of the Roofers Union Local 36 and worked for Rayco (Ray Brothers) roofing up until retirement. In the 1940’s Albert married Esther Rachel Acosta, they had 4 children; Albert Jr, Steven, Christopher and Mark. In 1979, Albert later remarried to Esther Alvarado Cortez and they had 1 child, Michael. Always a thoughtful, caring and hardworking man - he provided for his family. He enjoyed gardening, western and wartime films, as well as fishing, hunting and camping excursions with his family and friends. Albert is survived by his sole grandchild; Candida Lorenzana, sons; Albert Lorenzana Jr., Steven Lorenzana, Mark Lorenzana and Michael A Lorenzana, sisters; Mae Speer and Evelyn Arellanes. He is preceded in death by his wife Esther Cortez Lorenzana, former spouse Esther Rachel Lorenzana, son; Christopher Lorenzana, siblings; Dorothy Barrios, Erma Beraldo, Barbara Jean Barrios, Helen Lorenzana, Mike John Lorenzana Sr. and Victor “Keater” Lorenzana Jr.
