In Loving Memory of Alejandro Ramirez Sr. (1948–2025) and Maria Ramirez (1951–2025)
After over 53 beautiful years of marriage, Alejandro (Alex) Ramirez Sr., age 77, and Maria Ramirez, age 73, passed away unexpectedly together on Tuesday, May 6, 2025. In their later years, they resided in the Dos Vientos community of Newbury Park, California, cherishing life near their children and grandchildren.
Maria Rosario Galindo was born on August 30, 1951, in Jalisco, Mexico, one of eleven siblings. Alejandro (Alex) Ramirez Sr. was born on April 24,1948, in Mexico City, Mexico. He was raised with three younger sisters. He attended the University of Mexico. They both immigrated with their families to Oxnard, where fate would soon introduce each other. They married on July 3, 1971, beginning a journey rooted in deep love, resilience, and devotion.
Together, Alex and Maria raised five children in Ojai, California, instilling in them strong values, traditions, and an unwavering sense of family.
Alex was a determined and charismatic businessman, well known throughout Ventura County for his successful career in the car industry and his deep passion for the game of soccer, coaching his kids soccer teams. He was also known for his immaculate lawn, his sense of humor, and his deep appreciation for mariachi music.
Maria was a devoted and nurturing mother who always wanted the best for her children and did whatever it took to give them a better life. She was known for always cooking home-cooked meals for her family from hearty dinners to comforting breakfasts and her kitchen was the heart of the home. In her spare time, she worked in the Ojai Unified School District as a bilingual paraeducator for over twenty years. She loved nothing more than gathering her loved ones around the table, sharing food, stories, and laughter. Maria took immense pride in creating a close-knit family, where love, loyalty, and tradition were always at the center.
Together, they shared a love for the Lakers, the Dodgers, and family vacations in Cancun. Their home was always filled with laughter and Maria’s cooking. Later in life, they moved to Newbury Park to remain close to their children.
Alex and Maria are survived by their five children Alex (Monique), Veronica (William), Raymond, Jacqueline (Frank), and Christopher (Ashley) and by eight adoring grandchildren (Evon, Hannah, Alexander, William, Taylor, Lilliana, Francesca, and Isaac) who will carry forward the legacy of love, strength, and family unity they so beautifully embodied.
Their sudden passing leaves an immeasurable void, yet their love story, one of partnership, perseverance, and unconditional devotion will live on through the lives they touched.
Rest in peace, Alex and Maria. Your love lit the path for so many. You lived the American Dream. You will be forever missed, and eternally cherished.
