It is with profound sadness we announce our Angelina (Angie) Medrano Quiñonez has gone home to Our Heavenly Father. May she R.I.P.
She is preceded in death by her husband Roberto Quiñonez and her son David Quinonez.
Angie's story began in Anthony New Mexico on July 17, 1951 born to Manuel (Chino) Medrano & Hermelinda (Melin) Vasquez. At the age of 12, she survived Rheumatic Fever which was short of a miracle. This illness severely damaged her heart.
After the family moved to California, she would meet her husband of 50 yrs. Roberto, Together they had sons David and Richard. Sadly David lost his fight with kidney disease @ the young age of 50. This also caused severe damage to her heart.
She was a proud grandmother of 2 grandsons, David Jr and Richard Jr. She was MOM , not just a grandma. She adored her boys always keeping her family as her priority.
She began her career with the U.S. Border Patrol, then ICE at a young age. She was very proud of her profession. For 44 years she proudly held her position. She loved going to work, she called her office "her happy place" . She also worked side by side with her husband in his endeavors. She was proud of their accomplishments. Her busy days did not allow time for self care. Her damaged heart was suffering.
She enjoyed going to Scumash Casino, watching the waves at the beach, and long drives. She felt at peace. She searched for those moments, feeling at peace. She had a small circle of friends and family that she enjoyed spending time with. She enjoyed going to restaurants, loved that shrimp. She enjoyed going out mainly cause she disliked cooking. Being that her and the stove were continuously at odds. Angie was also an avid, dedicated Dodgers fan, whether at a home game, or at home cheering them on . Loved her Dodgers.
Sadly on July 17th, her 75th birthday, she went home. We celebrate our beloved Mom, Grandma, Sister, Tia, Godmother and friend. Happy Heavenly Birthday !
She leaves behind loved ones that are broken hearted, but grateful that she is resting and at peace.
Son Richard Quiñonez, Son/ grandson Richard (Sonny) Quiñonez Jr, grandson David Quiñonez Jr, Sister Anna Vasquez, sister Patricia Guerra, brother Gilbert Vasquez, Godaughter Deanna Hernandez and several nieces and nephews.
Many memories and pictures we will forever cherish.
