Aurora S. Hernandez

Aurora "Boris" Solorio Hernandez was one of three children, born on May 16, 1940 in Guanajuato Mexico by parents Ramon Solorio and Socorro Torres. She was raised by her grandparents, Locadio Torres and Vicenta Delgado. Aurora married Antonio Hernandez on December 29, 1958 in La Piedad, Michoacán Mexico and had three children.

On March 12, 1971 Aurora packed her most treasured belongings in only a few suit cases and moved her family to the U.S. with aspirations of a prosperous life. She overcame hardships and worked for many years at the Saticoy Lemon Association in Fillmore. By 1975 she bought her first home which allowed her family to lay down roots and enjoy life.

Aurora was described as responsible, dependable, and hard working. She was self driven, resilient, taught herself how to drive, speak and read English. She was very caring and generous, would lend you the sweater off her back and give you the last dollar she had in her purse.

Aurora loved spending time outdoors, tending to her rose bushes in her garden, bird watching and soaking up the sun. Above all she loved spoiling her grand babies.

Aurora passed away on April 1, 2026 in the comfort of her home surrounded by loving family. She was unexpectedly diagnosed with stage 4 cancer and succumbed to illness very quickly.

Although she left us suddenly, she left behind so many wonderful memories that will always be cherished. She is survived by three children, eleven grandchildren, twenty four great-grandchildren, and one great-great grandchild.
