Aurora Olivera

Aurora Olivera, our family matriarch, was born on April 28th, 1942, in Tijuana Mexico to Amelia Espinoza and Miguel Olivera Castillo. She moved to Oxnard, California in April of 1952. Aurora was a resident of Ventura County the remainder of her life. She passed away peacefully on May 22nd 2025, at her home in Oxnard. Above all, Aurora was a mother. Simply Yoya to her friends and siblings, she was known as Mom, Tia, or Gram to all her family. To her siblings, children, nieces and nephews, grand children, grand nieces and nephews, great grandchildren, and great grand nieces and nephews, her passing will create a void in their lives that can never be filled. I cannot list the many children she cared for and mothered over the course of her life. If you read this, please know that she always remembered and loved you. 

She was predeceased by her siblings, Juan Silvestre Olivera, Nicolas Olivera, Rosemary Castro and Joseph Castro. Also by her daughter, Amelia Mejia and her two grandsons, Isaac Mejia and Eduardo Bañales.

Aurora is survived by her brothers and sisters, Miguel and Vicky Olivera, Robert and Debrah Olivera, and Raquel Olivera and Carolynn D'Arcy. Her remaining children are Yolanda and Daniel Gonzalez, Frank and Susie Moreno, Cindy and Javier Galindo, Carol and Juan Velez, Richard and Lisa Flores, Ruben Angel Olivera and Christina Olivera. Including her children, Aurora leaves 102 descendants.
