Bertha Ortega

On November 6, 2022, Bertha Adele Ortega known as "Della" passed away peacefully at the age of 75 after a lengthy illness. Della was born on July 25,1947 and was a lifelong resident of Ventura.

Della loved taking drives to Chumash Casino, gardening and listening to music. Della had a large collection of earrings and even on days she wasn't feeling well she would still put on a pair. Della was proud of her Mayan and Yaqui Native American heritage, and she displayed that in her home and artifact collection.

Della will always be remembered by her wonderful sense of humor, she loved to make people laugh with her jokes and quick comebacks.

Della is survived by her loving partner of 30 years Joseph Castro. Her Children, Mike Ortega iii (Aurora), Joseph Ortega, Renee Contreras (Art), 16 grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren.

Della is preceded in death by her daughter Shelly Ortega, her mother Bertha Flores and her grandparents Carlos and Grace Flores, all who she loved and missed dearly.

A Memorial Mass will be held at Sacred Heart Church in Ventura on Thursday, December 1, 2022 at 10am.
