Cynthia Lynne Smith (Cindy), age 69, 0f Thousand Oaks, CA, completed her earthly journey in Hospice, at home, surrounded by family and friends. Her last moments were spent telling wonderful stories about her life and listening to oldies music, including her favorite song ‘Spirit in the Sky.’ Viewing will be done virtually through the funeral home’s Facebook Acct. on Thursday July 23rd from 10:00 – 2:00 pacific standard time. The service will be held on Friday July 24th at 12:00 noon P.S.T at the Perez Family Funeral Home at 1347 Del Norte Road Camarillo, CA. 93010 in a tent on the grounds spaced appropriately for Covid. It will also be shown virtually on the funeral home’s Facebook site. Cindy was born in Dekalb, Ill. on April 8th 1951 to Joseph and Doralee, Crews. She went to Dekalb High School and graduated in 1969. She spent one year at Kishwaukee Community College and then worked in the administrative office with what would end up to be one of her lifelong friends, Carol Wagner. Cindy married Lynn Miller in 1972 and soon after they moved to Rockford, Ill. Where they had two children, Matt and Lauren. Cindy worked different office jobs as she took care of her young children. Cindy and Lynn divorced in 1984. Cindy and Roger met soon after on a blind date. They married on May 10th.1986 moved with the kids to Thousand Oaks, CA. Cindy kept busy with numerous bookkeeping jobs and enjoyed her many crafts which included ceramics, flower arranging, macramé, cross stitching, scrapbooking, and her favorite pastime, quilting. She started her bookkeeping business around 1996 and her first client was Johnson & Mueller followed by Lynn Johnson and Cindi Burnett. She ventured into the pharmacy business through Roger’s contacts working for AmerisourceBergen, a drug wholesaler. She worked at Kramer’s Pharmacy as a bookkeeper for several years which lead to a position working for Buena Vista Hospice until she retired completely around 2016 because of Parkinson’s. Cindy is survived by her husband Roger, son Matt and her daughter Lauren. Also, her brothers: Richard Crews (Barbara), and Jeff Crews (Gloria) and her sister Connie Weller(Roland). As well as her Grandchildren: Angelica, Chrystal, Brandon, Emma and Lily; Nieces: Amie Weller, Jennifer Faulkner, Brianna Splinter and Rachel Crews; Nephews: Bryan Weller, Steven Crews and Ryan Crews. Grand Nieces: Elizabeth and Ava Faulkner and Izzy Weller; Great nephews: Ethan Weller and Joseph Crews Faulkner. She was preceded in death by her mother Doralee and her father Joe.
