David Valencia

David "Boy" Valencia was born October 16,1925. He lived most if his life in Santa Paula. At the age of 17 he joined the Coast Guard during World War II. He was on a oil tanker taking oil to other ships in the south China seas. He left the Coast Guard in 1946. He worked for Southern Pacific Trucking Company for over 35 years as truck driver making deliveries throughout Ventura County. He loved his work . In 1948 he married Lucy Escarsega and had two children , Alicia and James David. He was a dedicated member of El Buen Pastor Methodist Church in Santa Paula California. David was instrumental in starting the bus minister at El Buen Pastor . David is survived by daughter Alicia Ramirez Husband (Ruben),James David wife (Staci) Grandchildren, Willa, Jaymie, Morgan, Ruben and Ronnie. Great grandchildren, Christopher, Diego, Adam and Paloma. In his early life he was an avid car collector and motorcycles. He enjoyed reading and listening to Big Band music from the 1940’s and 1950’s. His last few years we lived at the Villa of Ojai, a Board and Care facility where he was loved and cared for. He will be missed
