He was born on July 22, 1942 in Glendale, CA to Edward Newton and Lena Valeria (Shrode) Burroughs. He attended John Burroughs High School in Burbank, Ca and graduated in 1960. In 1962, Don married Alta Spitler and they had two children, Kate (1964) and Steven (1966). In 1974, Don and Donna Jean Motowidlo were married in Las Vegas at The Little Chapel of the West. They had one daughter, Brittany (1981).
Don's love for cars ultimately led to him making a 40+ year career in the automobile industry. He started out working at Volkswagen of America in Culver City, Ca. From there he went to various Porsche/Audi dealerships in parts management. He retired from Rusnak Pasadena in 2010.
Don was passionate about his family, golf and gambling. He was also an enthusiastic fisherman. He loved his family and friends and enjoyed hosting family gatherings, especially, Thanksgiving and Christmas Eve. He absolutely loved Las Vegas and often joked that… “he even married Donna just to get a Vegas trip out of the deal." Although he was never happy with his golfing score, he did manage to reach his dream of a "hole in one" at the Buenaventura Golf Course on June 15, 2020. He was also known for his quick wit and infectious laugh.
Don is survived by his wife, Donna, his three children, Kate Burroughs(Douglas Johnston), Steven (Maria) Burroughs, and Brittany Burroughs. He is also survived by his grandson Edwin Marron (Jennifer and Drake); his sister, Diana McGlothlin of Colorado Springs, CO.
