1937-2013)Dorothy Ann Riley, 75, of Moorpark, passed away on August 31, 2013 in Simi Valley after a brief battle with cancer. Dorothy was born on December 7, 1937 in Glendale, CA to Roy and Ruth Starkins. She married her best friend George Riley in 1956. Dorothy and her husband George moved to Simi Valley in 1965 with their five children. She worked for Northrup for 16 years on both the F-18 and B-2 Bomber. She retired from Northrup in 1994. She enjoyed spending time with family, reading, bingo, and her love for the game of baseball and the Los Angeles Dodgers.
Dorothy is preceded in death by her loving husband of 27 years, George Riley who passed away in February of 1983 from cancer at the age of 50. She is also preceded in death by their daughter Susan who passed away at birth in 1958, her parents Roy and Ruth Starkins, her sister Betty Burns, and her brother Jack Starkins.Dorothy is survived by two brothers John and Harry Starkins; two sisters Vivian and Edith; her three sons Tom Riley (wife Denise) of Lancaster, Bob Riley (wife Ginny) of Palmdale, and Steve Riley (wife Karen) of Simi Valley, and her two daughters Mary Bearns (husband Mike) of Simi Valley, and Kathy Waggoner (husband Terry) of Moorpark. She is also survived by her 10 grandchildren Danielle, Jennifer (Brian), Amy (Craig), Bobby (wife Amy and her children Blake and Lindsey), Daryl (wife Megan), Daniel, Matthew, Bryan, Josh (wife Elizabeth), Erin, and her 14 great grandchildren Taylor, Brian, Zachary, Sean, Kayla, Trisha, Allison, MacKinzee, Peyton, Jocelyn, Emma, Jacob, Ryan, and Bella.
A memorial service will be held on Friday, September 6, 2013, at 11:00 a.m., at Perez Family Funeral Home located at 1347 Del Norte Road, Camarillo. Burial will immediately follow at Santa Clara Cemetery, 2370 North H Street, Oxnard, CA 93036.
