Frank Sheets

February 1, 1951 — February 26, 2026

Frank Kirk Sheets, born on February 1, 1951, in Ventura, California, passed away on February 26, 2026, in his hometown of Newbury Park. He was 75 years old.

Frank attended Timber School and Thousand Oaks High School before graduating from Newbury Park High School in June 1969. Following high school, he furthered his studies at Moorpark College in Moorpark, California, from 1969 to 1971, focusing on Electronics and Business Law.

In 1973, Frank worked alongside his Uncle Wayne at W.E. Sheets & Sons Plumbing and Heating Contractors Inc. in Fort Wayne, Indiana. He also contributed his talents to the U.S. Navy at Port Hueneme, California.

Frank had a lifelong passion for learning and creating. His curiosity and mechanical aptitude were evident in his many hobbies and interests. He enjoyed upholstery, carpentry, vintage car restoration, and mechanical tinkering—skills that reflected his inventive spirit and hands-on approach to life.

His younger sisters have memories of being picked up from school on his motorcycle, his work as a mechanic on sand rails for desert races with dad, his love of his VW - you could hear it from a quite a distance- and his home/shop for working on friends' vehicles and friends gathering place. He loved to read, craft toys, and devise contraptions, such as wind propellers, kites, garden planters and smokeless fire pits. He loved to share his research into vitamins, plants and DIY and more. He enjoyed family celebrations and made the effort to show up, especially his birthday, Thanksgiving and Christmas on the Hill. He will be missed as he was always kind and supportive, and was there any time he was needed.

Frank was a blessing to his widowed mother. For several years, he served as a live-in assistant to his mother during her later years. He took great care in maintaining their home and garden while also accompanying her to appointments and events.

Frank is survived by Bill Sheets, Valerie East-Sheets, Guy Sheets, Gilbert Sheets, Shawn Sheets, Aleta Francis, Becky Street, and Mercedes Rodda. He was predeceased by his parents, Don and Shirley Sheets.

Frank’s quirky personality and boundless curiosity was accompanied by an introverted yet helpful spirit. As his principal, Mr. White, in his 9th grade year at Timber School advised, Frank “kept his best foot forward” in his life challenges and endeavors.
