Forever in Our Hearts Haylee Alexa Craven
It is with heartbreaking pain that we announce the passing of Haylee Alexa Craven, who died unexpectedly on May 21, 2026 at the age of 18.
Haylee Alexa Craven was born on October 24, 2007, in Camarillo, California to her loving parents Samantha Martinez and Philip Craven. She shared a special bond with her two brothers, Alexander Craven (5 years old) and Carmine Guerra (4 months), whom she loved unconditionally.
Haylee was so deeply loved; she was a precious daughter, sister, granddaughter, goddaughter, niece, cousin, and friend whose beautiful spirit touched everyone around her. She had the kindest soul and loved with her whole heart. She would give you anything you needed, go to the ends of the earth to protect the people she loved, and always tried to make others happy no matter what she herself was going through. She could light up any room the moment she walked in. Haylee had a vibrant spirit and a natural gift for entertaining others at an early age. Whether she was performing for a room full of people or simply for an audience of one, Haylee was always ready to make someone smile. Her smile was unforgettable, her heart was enormous, and her love was genuine and unconditional.
Haylee was ambitious from the time she was a little girl, always knowing what she wanted to become and already working toward building that future. She attended Ventura College, and had begun her journey in the nursing program, pursuing her dream of becoming a Registered Nurse. She was everyone's favorite Barista at Honey Cup in Oxnard, where she worked for over 3 years. She excelled in school and was a committed member of her softball league, where she proudly played the position of catcher for El Rio Fastpitch and Rio Mesa High School Softball Haylee was a hardworking athlete and supportive teammate; she brought determination, focus, and heart to every game. Whether in the classroom, on the softball field, at work or among friends, she approached everything she did with enthusiasm and determination. She had big dreams and an unmatched work ethic, she inspired those around her. Haylee had a playful spirit and loved to joke around. She had a remarkable ability to bring humor, positivity, comfort, and encouragement to everyone. Haylee’s presence made people feel welcomed and valued.
To so many, she was lovingly known as “Haylee Boo,” “Boo Bear,” and “Bugg.” One of the sayings shared between her and her family was, "I love you to the moon and back.” and “I love you more”-a love that will never fade.
Though her time with us was far too short, Haylee’s legacy of perseverance, strength, and unwavering dedication will continue to inspire all who knew and loved her.
Keep Haylee’s memory alive by remembering the love, light, laughter, and kindness she brought into this world.
A celebration of Haylee’s beautiful life will be held on Sunday, June 7, 2026, 6pm at Perez Family Funeral Home in Camarillo. A continuation Memorial Service will be held at New Life Community Church in Oxnard on Monday, June 8, 2026, 10:30am. Burial at Santa Clara Cemetery in Oxnard to follow.
