Henry Silvas Quintana

d. February 26, 2018

Our beloved husband, father and grandfather, Henry Silvas Quintana, went home to be with Jesus, his Lord and Savior, on February 26, 2018. After a lengthy illness, he passed peacefully surrounded by his family. He was born on October 4, 1960 in Oxnard, California to Frank and Stella Quintana. Henry served in the Army for 3 years. Soon after, Henry met his loving wife, Bertha to whom he was married to for 34 years. Together they had two children and one precious grandson. He was a retired Caltrans electrician where he worked for 20 years. Henry was a detailed and meticulous handyman. He had a memorable sense of humor and endless jokes that always made others laugh. He made friends very easily. He loved music and played in the music ministry for many years, and later played congas as a member of the Christian band, Sunday Morning. Henry was deeply passionate about sharing the love and hope of Jesus Christ with others. His faith in Jesus Christ inspired those around him. He truly lived 2 Timothy 4:7, “I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith.” As his grandson Caleb would say, “We love you so much.” He is preceded in death by his parents Frank and Stella Quintana, mother-in-law Esther Tribis, sister-in-law Gloria Quintana and brother-in-law Ralph Rivas. He is survived by his wife, Bertha Quintana; son, Jacob Quintana (Lisette), daughter, Jenae Quintana and grandson, Caleb Quintana; brothers: Frank Quintana (Kathy) and Danny Quintana; sisters: Margie Rivas and Gloria Hernandez; sister & brother-in-laws and many nieces and nephews who “Uncle Henry” loved. Celebration of Life will be held on Thursday, March 15, 10:00 A.M., at New Life Community Church, 1251 N. Rice Avenue, Oxnard, CA. Burial to follow at Ivy Lawn Memorial Park, 5400 Valentine Road Ventura, CA. Reception to follow burial at the Oxnard Performing Arts Center, 800 Hobson Way, Oxnard, CA. The Quintana Family would like to sincerely thank Dr. Lyche and staff at Island View Gastroenterology Associates and Dr. Wilkholm and staff at Valley Medical Group. We are so appreciative of your kindness and care.
