Jane Elaine Jensen Onufryk

Jane Elaine Jensen Onufryk, of Sylmar, California, born May 23, 1938, loving wife of Theodore (Ted) Onufryk went home to be with the Lord on April 1, 2019 at the age of 80 years old.  In addition to her husband of 62 years, Jane is survived by her daughter, Linda Jane (Bill) Adcock, of Frankfort, Kentucky, her son Ronald Theodore (Denise) Onufryk of Canyon Country, California, and her daughter Barbara Ann (Don) Carpenter of Owasso, Oklahoma; granddaughters, Amanda Jane Adcock Wash (Allen) of Knoxville, Tennessee and Jenny Lynn Adcock Allison (Josh) of Marietta, Georgia; great grandchildren, Jane English Wash, Rush David Allison and Hayes Meade Allison.  Also surviving are her sisters, Karen Clark (Jack) of Gorham, New York, Sharon Lootens (Richard) of Liverpool, New York, and brother, Pete Jensen (Bonnie) of Lake Placid, Florida and a host of nieces, a nephew, several great nieces and nephews and other extended family members.

Jane was born in Rochester New York to Niels and Ruth Jensen who preceded her in death.  Jane attended The First Assembly of God Church in Canandaigua, New York giving her profession of faith at age 17.  She was baptized by Pastor Dickenson.  It was at First Assembly that she met her husband-to- be, Ted.  They were married by Pastor Dickenson and shortly thereafter moved to California, where they raised their family.  It was rare that you did not see Jane and Ted together.  They were a team, and took great care of one another.  Jane worked several different jobs through the years, meeting a lot of people and making many great friends.  Jane had a big heart for people.  She loved her family dearly, and enjoyed any time spent with them.  She loved traveling across the country to visit her family and spent many happy hours in New York, Oklahoma, Kentucky, Tennessee, Georgia and South Carolina.   She loved attending car shows with Ted and Ron, and spent many hours sitting in a folding chair next to those classic cars. People would come by and visit with her and their dog Sonny, and she enjoyed time spent talking to them.  She loved music, especially country and Gospel.  Jane was very active up until the last few years, when her health began to fail.  Even in her last weeks and days, she never lost her sense of humor or her desire for independence.  She faced death with unwavering faith and strength that could only come from her faith in God, knowing He would watch over her and bring her the perfect healing.  She said, “I want to live, but if I don’t I know where I am going and I am satisfied with that”.  We are saddened by her passing, but we too rejoice that she has experienced the perfect healing.  We take comfort in the fact that as Christians, we have the assurance of seeing her again. There is no memorial service planned at this time. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the  church or charity of your choice.
