Obituary of Jesus “Chuy” Meza of Moorpark.
On Sunday, February 28, 2021, Jesus R. Meza, loving son, husband, father, brother, grandfather, and uncle was called to be with the Lord at the age of 79.
He was born on February 27, 1942, in Catarina, Jalisco, Mexico. He moved to Moorpark in 1967 to a property at the corner of Spring Road and Los Angeles Avenue owned by the Johnson family where he lived and worked as a general laborer.
He also worked at Egg City and Eskenazi Nursery for several years.
He and his wife Nellie, of 35 years, assisted Ruben Castro at Catholic Charities Food Bank and volunteered at Holy Cross Church.
He was an experienced carpenter and would spend his past time refurbishing antique furniture to sell at local flea markets with his wife.
He was a hard worker, always willing to help with yard work, home repairs and improvements, trips to the hardware supply store, vehicle repairs and setting up for family get togethers. He was always a pleasure to be with.
He loved spending time with family and going on camping trips and visiting family in Mexicali, Baja California.
Jesus is preceded in death by his father Francisco and mother Maria Meza, his wife Manuela “Nellie”, son Andres Martin “Andy” Meza, brothers, Ramon and Benito Meza, and sister Petra Solano Meza.
He will certainly be missed dearly by his loving Daughter Fatima of Guadalajara, Mexico and Son Joey Meza, Grandchildren, as well as his Brother Juan, Sisters Victoria and Martha, numerous nieces and nephews, aunts, cousins, close loved ones and friends.
Despite the pain, he showed his courage in facing life’s challenges with a smile. He will be missed greatly. We are very grateful for the time we all shared with him. May he Rest In Peace.
