There are no words that will ever fully recount the exquisite life Jose led. Jose Gabriel Pantoja left a deep mark on everyone he encountered, that will forever be untouched. He was a loving and devoted husband, dad, tio, abuelo, and friend.
Though he was blind, Jose saw the world in many ways others could not. He had a deep love for nature and the outdoors. Through his family's eyes he was able to experience the beauty and wonders of the world in an unmatched depth. Whether it be the sound of the breeze or the warmth of the sun, he was able to experience and appreciate every small detail. This attentiveness to detail went beyond nature. It extended to people as well. He was able to see the good and radiance of everyone, by the sound of their voice, the creavesses of their hands, he was able to make connections with each and every one of us that will never compare to another.
Through these connections, he created positivity everywhere he went. Whenever Jose was around, there was never a dull or quiet moment. He filled every moment and room he entered with laughter. There is no other sound greater than the liveliness of his laughter to his own jokes. Positivity wasn't the only thing he created, one of his passions was creating objects out of wood in his garage. Some things he has made for this nietos include tablet holders, chairs, and even a doll crib. Each of these were curated because he was a provider, making something to make our lives easier or better is one of the many ways he showed his love. And although he can be quite the jokester he had a profundity of wisdom. He gave advice freely and generously, always wanting the best for us, and encouraging us to pursue our passions, education, and take care of one another. God himself would be likely baffled at his unrequited love and grace he extended to others. He left behind a family forever shaped by his presence.
We will miss him dearly and continue to carry forward the good memories, love, and laughter he led his life with. With that, I leave you all with a saying he would never fail to say before departing, dios de bendiga.
