Kenneth J. Baum, 78, of Ventura California, passed away peacefully on September 1, 2025.
He was born on December 6, 1946, in Rochester, Pennsylvania, to Kenneth W. and Ida Baum. Kenneth grew up in Pennsylvania before proudly going into the service in September 1964. Serving his country in the United States Air Force during the Vietnam War, reflecting his lifelong passion for his country.
After completing his military service, Kenneth moved to California, where he would spend most of his life. He began his career with Shakey’s Pizza, which first brought him west. He later served as Vice President at Dixie Sales while following his entrepreneurial spirit. With his first wife, Alice, he opened Pizza Chief, and later, with his second wife Karyn, he bought C & R West Coast Services, a painting company he operated until his retirement.
Kenneth married Karyn Baum, who preceded him in death in February 2023. He was also preceded in death by his parents Kenneth, and Ida Baum, his daughter, Wendy Reynolds and his grandson Cheyne Reynolds. He is survived by his daughter, Tiffany Dorthalina; his stepsons Scott, Jamey and Becky Douras, his sister and brother-in-law, Diana and Bob Becker; several cherished grandchildren; and many extended family members and friends.
Kenneth will be remembered as a loving, devoted, and caring husband, father, grandfather, and friend. He enjoyed golfing, fishing, and traveling, and he especially loved sharing those moments with family and friends.
A memorial to honor Kenneth’s life will be held on March 22, 2026 from 10am-1pm at Channel Islands Sportfishing 4151 S. Victoria Ave Oxnard, Ca 93035. Gather for a memorial ride out to Anacapa, with Kenny Baum's family and Friends. Bring your memories, pictures and stories to share with all. After the memorial, the family would like to extend the invite to join for a No-Host lunch at Sea Fresh on the opposite site of the harbor.
