Maria Canela

Maria Carmen Canela, 28, of Moorpark, passed away Feb. 22, 2008, in Simi Valley. Maria was born on July 15, 1979, to Salvador and Antonia Canela of Moorpark. A lifelong resident of Moorpark. Maria enjoyed music, dancing and working. She especially enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. Maria will be missed dearly by her parents, Salvador and Antonia; brother Chava; and sisters Berta and Lisa, all of Moorpark, as well as many friends and relatives. A viewing will be held from 5 to 9 p.m. Friday, Feb. 29, at Crossroads Church, 1925 Royal Ave. (located on the corner of Royal Avenue and Erringer Road) in Simi Valley. Rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. by Deacon Trino Andrade of Holy Cross Church. Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Saturday, March 1, at Holy Cross Church in Moorpark. Burial will follow at Santa Clara Cemetery in Oxnard. The family wishes to thank the community and family for their thoughts and prayers during this difficult time.
