Maria Ruano

Maria Ruano was born on July 18, 1957, in Gabriel Lopez, Zacatecas, Mexico, and passed away surrounded by her family’s love at home in Moorpark, California, on August 29, 2025, at the age of 68.

Maria faced great loss at a young age, losing both parents as a teenager. Through immense strength and faith, she built a life centered on love, family, and compassion, values she carried into every part of her life. She spent her early childhood in Yahualica de González Gallo, Jalisco, where she grew up surrounded by love, laughter, and simple joys. Although she completed school through the third grade, Maria was a lifelong learner. She attended adult school to learn English and was always eager to study anything new, often joining her children in learning experiences throughout their lives.

Maria’s most cherished role was being a mother and wife, which she valued above all else. She devoted her life to her family, and later in life, she cleaned homes to help support them. In 2002, she began working as an assembler at MetalaGraphics Inc. (MGI), where her hard work and dedication left a lasting impression.

Maria was a woman of many passions. She loved keeping her home beautiful, sewing dresses and tablecloths, tending to her garden, studying English, and spending time with her sisters, husband, and children. She loved attending seminars with her kids, learning new things, and spending her time supporting her children in their activities. One of her greatest joys was traveling to watch them play sports and cheering them on from the sidelines. Above all, she was happiest when surrounded by family.

Those who knew Maria will remember her for her deep faith in God, kindness, honesty, compassion, generosity, positivity, and unwavering strength. She had a unique gift for encouraging others, always ready with uplifting words and a listening ear. She supported her children’s dreams wholeheartedly and was always there to help her sisters with anything they needed, whether with words, time, or resources.

Maria believed in living with love and authenticity. She taught those around her to always say “I love you” because tomorrow is never guaranteed, to treat people with kindness, to do the right thing, and to focus on the bright side of life. She embodied the values of service, love, and integrity — una mujer hecha y derecha.

One of Maria’s most enduring qualities was her joy. She never let life’s challenges take away her happiness. She found humor in almost anything and always looked for ways to make others smile. She loved being with her children everywhere they went and cherished giving advice that shaped them into the noble people they are today.

Maria was the devoted wife of Macario Ruano, and the loving mother of Lawrence, Grycelda, Macario, Ernorrui, and Ferid Ruano. She was the proud grandmother of 11 grandchildren, all of whom brought endless joy to her life. Maria is also survived by her sisters Alejandra Barrios, M. Dionicia Sandoval Perez (Nicha), and Evarista Perez Sandoval, along with many nieces, nephews, and extended family members who loved her deeply.

We were truly blessed to have called her Mom, Tia, and Friend. Her love and the example she set will live on forever in each of us.

Maria enfrentó una gran pérdida a una edad temprana al perder a ambos padres siendo aún adolescente. Con una fuerza y fe inmensas, construyó una vida basada en el amor, la familia y la compasión, valores que llevó con ella en cada etapa de su vida. Pasó su infancia en Yahualica de González Gallo, Jalisco, donde creció rodeada de amor, risas y alegrías sencillas. Aunque completó sus estudios hasta el tercer grado, a Maria siempre le encantaba aprender. Asistió a clases para adultos para aprender inglés y siempre mostró entusiasmo por estudiar cosas nuevas, muchas veces acompañando a sus hijos en experiencias de aprendizaje a lo largo de sus vidas.

El papel que más valoró en su vida fue el de madre y esposa, al cual dedicó todo su amor y entrega. Dedicó su vida a su familia y, más adelante, trabajó limpiando casas para ayudar a mantenerlos. En 2002 comenzó a trabajar como ensambladora en MetalaGraphics Inc. (MGI), donde su duro trabajo y dedicación dejaron una huella imborrable.

Maria fue una mujer con muchas pasiones. Amaba mantener su hogar hermoso, coser vestidos y manteles, cuidar su jardín, estudiar inglés y pasar tiempo con sus hermanas, esposo e hijos. Disfrutaba asistir a seminarios con sus hijos, aprender cosas nuevas y dedicar su tiempo a apoyarlos en sus actividades. Una de sus mayores alegrías era viajar para verlos jugar deportes y animarlos desde las gradas. Por encima de todo, era más feliz cuando estaba rodeada de su familia.

Quienes conocieron a Maria la recordarán por su profunda fe en Dios, su sonrisa, bondad, honestidad, compasión, generosidad, positividad y fortaleza inquebrantable. Tenía un don especial para animar a los demás, siempre con palabras de ánimo y un oído dispuesto a escuchar. Apoyaba los sueños de sus hijos con todo su corazón y siempre estaba disponible para ayudar a sus hermanas en lo que necesitaran, ya fuera con palabras, tiempo o recursos.

Maria creía en vivir con amor y autenticidad. Enseñó a quienes la rodeaban a decir siempre “te amo”, porque el mañana no está garantizado, a tratar a las personas con amabilidad, a hacer lo correcto y a enfocarse en el lado positivo de la vida. Vivía según los valores del servicio, el amor y la integridad — una mujer hecha y derecha.

Una de las cualidades más notables de Maria fue su alegría. Nunca permitió que los desafíos de la vida le robaran su felicidad. Encontraba el humor en casi cualquier situación y siempre buscaba formas de hacer sonreír a los demás. Le encantaba acompañar a sus hijos a donde fuera que fueran y valoraba profundamente el poder dar consejos que ayudarán a formarlos en las personas nobles que son hoy.

Maria fue la devota esposa de Macario Ruano y la amorosa madre de Lawrence, Grycelda, Macario, Ernorrui y Ferid Ruano. Fue la orgullosa abuela de 11 nietos, quienes llenaron su vida de alegría. También le sobreviven sus hermanas Alejandra Barrios, M. Dionicia Sandoval Perez (Nicha) y Evarista Perez Sandoval, así como numerosos sobrinos, sobrinas y familiares que la amaban profundamente.

Fuimos bendecidos de poder llamarla mamá, tía y amiga. Su amor y su ejemplo vivirán para siempre en cada uno de nosotros.
