Martin V. Mares

In loving memory of Martin V. Mares, who passed away peacefully on June 4th, 2022 surrounded by his family. Martin was born on January 29th, 1962 in Ocotlan, Jalisco. He was the eldest of 7 children “Los 7 Mares” to Ramiro and Guadalupe Mares. Martin grew up in Oxnard, California and attended Channel Islands High School and Oxnard College. At a young age Martin became a skilled iron worker and combined with his savvy sales persona he owned a successful wrought iron business for over 40 years, Mares Wrought Iron. Martin was a force of nature, with a kind giving soul and determination to provide for his family to give them the life he felt they deserved. His pastime activities included riding his Harley with his beloved brothers in the Brotherhood, hunting, barbequing for his family, watching the Dodgers and cracking jokes. Martin was a husband, father, son, brother and friend to many. Martin is survived by his wife Lorena Landeros, 5 children Vanessa Jimenez, Elizabeth Mares, Martin Mares Jr., Liliana Mares, Diana Mares and 2 grandsons Leo & Oliver Jimenez. He will be dearly missed and will forever hold a place in our hearts. Family, friends and others whose lives Martin touched are invited to attend his services.
