In Loving Memory of Pamela Sanchez
It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Pamela Sanchez on May 22, 2026. Born on October 8th, 1955 in Detroit Michigan, Pamela left this world surrounded by her loving family—a testament to a life filled with love, warmth, and devotion.
Pamela was the cherished daughter of Jack and Cynthia, who predeceased her. She was the beloved wife of Steve Sanchez, with whom she celebrated a marriage of over four decades. Together, they built a nurturing and vibrant family, including their children Adam, Esteban (wife Jenn), and Rebekah (husband Dicky). Pamela's legacy of love lives on in her six grandchildren: Jakob, Colin, Liam, Kody, Lucy, and Ronin, who brought immense joy to her life.
Pamela's early years were marked by a passion for baton twirlingparticipating in many parades, roller skating and working on projects around the house alongside her father, Jack. A graduate of Oxnard High School in 1973, Pamela pursued her calling in nursing, receiving her RN in 1988. Her career began at St. John's Hospital in Oxnard as a nursing assistant and evolved through her roles in labor delivery and the Operating Room at Chandler Regional Hospital when she moved to Phoenix Arizona in 1989.Pamela moved back to California in 1999 to be closer to her parents and started working at Community Memorial hospital in Ventura. Pamela's dedication to her profession was evident as she advanced to an Assistant Manager and Nursing Educator working in the OR and same-day surgery department, where she worked until her retirement in 2019.
Pamela's compassionate nature extended beyond her career. She volunteered as a hospice nurse for a short time, providing solace and comfort to those in their final days. Her calming voice and radiant smile were a source of reassurance to patients and families alike.
Beyond her professional accomplishments, Pamela was a woman of many talents and interests. She had an eye for design, transforming each of her homes into beautiful sanctuaries. Her love for the holidays was evident in her elaborate decorations and the cherished tradition of hosting a yearly Christmas tea in Ventura. Pamela delighted in family barbecues, experimenting with new recipes inspired by her favorite cooking shows, and spending tranquil afternoons immersed in a good book.
Pamela's heart was as expansive as her love for her family, extending to her beloved dogs, Ivy and Jax, and the many pets she cared for throughout her life. Her warmth, beauty, and unwavering commitment to her family and friends left an indelible mark on everyone she encountered.
In her retirement, Pamela fulfilled a lifelong dream by settling at Bass Lake, where she found peace and joy in the serene beauty of the mountains and trees. It was here, on her deck overlooking nature's splendor, that Pamela spent her days reflecting on a life well-lived.
Pamela is survived by her devoted husband, Steve; her children, Adam, Esteban, and Rebekah; her grandchildren; her four sisters, Gayner, Jennifer, Cindy, and Jackie; a host of nieces, nephews, and many close family members and friends.
