Ralph Bonilla

Ralph Armond Bonilla passed away on June 5, 2025, at the age of 67, in Ojai, California. Ralph was born on December 7, 1957, in Ventura and attended local schools, living in Ventura County his entire life.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Jesus and Erma Bonilla, his brothers Bobby Baca, Ricky Baca, Ronnie Bonilla, and his sister Annette McCauley.

Ralph will be remembered by all who knew and loved him for his utmost love and devotion to his son Robert. He always made sure that his son and nieces were always looked after with care and love. Ralph was an amazing dad to Robert who was not only his son but his best friend. Whenever Robert was hospitalized, Ralph was right there next to him, sleeping in a chair never leaving his side so that Robert was never alone. On weekends you could find the two cruising Lake Casitas or enjoying meals at local favorites (often including Arianna) like Pizza Man Dan's, Red Robin, or Ojai Pizza. Actually, you could find them doing most anything that he knew would make Robert happy and as long as they were together.

Ralph's deep affection extended to his niece, Arianna aka "pooky", whom he cherished deeply, often seen picking her up from school or supporting her at derby practices and bouts. A lifelong Dodgers fan, Ralph's love of rock music led him to share many concert experiences with Robert, from AC/DC and ZZ Top to The Rolling Stones.

Ralph is survived by his son, Robert Bonilla; sister, Diane Shirley (Bill); nieces, Melissa McCauley (David Dultz), Arianna Dultz, Kimberly Lyons (Dominick), Stacy Marshall (Ed and their children Charlie and Victoria); nephew, Steven Bonilla (Melissa and their children Ryan and Lee). He is also survived by his former wife Suzi, and many family, former in-laws, and life-long friends (too many to mention).

A private gathering to honor Ralph's life will be held at a later date.
