Rogelio G Esparza

CAMARILLO, CA

Rogelio Gutierrez Esparza, a resident of Camarillo,CA, passed away on Saturday, February 10, 2024, at the age of 61. 

He was born on January 28, 1963, in Aguascalientes, Mexico to Francisco Esparza and Enedina Gutierrez. He grew up on Rancho La Morada in Aguascalientes with his 8 siblings, where they all learned how to manage the ranch at a young age. In 1980, he moved to Arvin, California, where he would harvest grapes. He then moved to Camarillo in 1985, where he started his career and passion as a landscaper. He took great pride in his work and providing for his family in the US and Mexico. He enjoyed going back to Aguascalientes every year to spend time with his family on the family ranch. 

In 1986, he met his life-long partner of 38 years, Delphina, at a mutual friend’s baby shower. They enjoyed spending time together and always had something to attend, whether it was a wedding, birthday party, baptism, but most importantly they loved going to mass every Sunday. They welcomed their two daughters, Erica and Leticia in 1990 and 1991, and along with Delphina’s oldest son, Michael, they raised their blended family of five. As their family tree began to expand with grandchildren, Rogelio’s love for them and the joy in making them smile and laugh was very clear. He always had his cookies in his drawer, under his bed ready for when he needed a sweet snack. This became a fond memory for the grandchildren to ask their “Tata” for a cookie, which he enjoyed giving them. 

He is survived by his partner Delphina; daughters, Erica (Servando), and Leticia (Luis); stepson, Michael; grandchildren, Sophia, Jose, Joshua, Mia, and Kamilah. He is also survived by his parents, Francisco and Enedina; brothers, Sergio (Emma), Francisco, Gerardo (Lorena); sisters Raquel (Hector) and Juana (Victor); sister-in-law Lula, and many loving nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his brothers Jesus, Delfino, and Adolfo.
