Fillmore, California
Sharon Snow Bennett, 88, passed away peacefully on August 28, 2025 surrounded by her daughters and granddaughters.
She was born in Hollywood, California in 1937. Sharon was a proud Fillmore granddaughter of the pioneering Youngs of Bardsdale and Snows of Sespe. While she grew up in Glendale, California, she spent many weekends visiting her grandparents and extended family in Fillmore enjoying ranch life as well as the beach in Ventura.
Sharon moved to Fillmore in 1973 and was married to Sam Bennett in 1974. She and Sam built a life filled with love, laughter, and adventure. Sam preceded her in death in 2023, and together they shared a bond that was the heart of their family.
Sharon is lovingly remembered by her four daughters: Katherine Hadley (Dale), Susan Herrmann (Ralph), and twins Jamie Grossman (Dan) and Jennifer Klein (Bart); and by her three stepsons: Sam Bennett Jr. (Paige), Don Bennett (Lori), and Paul Bennett (Stephanie). She was the proud grandmother of nine—grandsons Branden, Carsen, Kyle, and Hendrick, and granddaughters April, Meghen, Samantha, Emma, and Eleanor—and was blessed with five great-grandchildren: three great-grandsons and two great-granddaughters.
A woman of many talents, Sharon began her career as a gifted beautician before becoming a licensed contractor and the proud owner of Bennett Construction. She was known for her incredible cooking, often with a splash of wine in the dish and a glass in her hand.
Sharon had a zest for life. She loved painting, fishing, traveling, playing cards, and especially sitting at a blackjack table with a twinkle in her eye. Her love for animals, particularly dogs, was endless—she rescued many throughout her life, giving them a warm and loving home.
Her sense of humor was unforgettable, her laughter contagious, and her presence a joy to everyone who knew her. Above all, Sharon cherished time with her family, especially at June Lake, where so many treasured memories were made.
The family is deeply grateful for Sharon’s trusted and kind caregivers, especially Iliana, who provided such loving care.
Sharon’s laughter, generosity, and zest for life will continue to ripple through the lives she touched, a lasting reminder that joy, love, and humor are the greatest legacies of all.
