Sharon was a loving and devoted wife and mother and a loving, fun Grandma always spoiling just the right amount! Her beautiful smile was contagious.Sharon passed away peacefully at home. She was born in Tacoma, WA in 1945 to Al and Audrey Hedesa. They lived there a few months during a WWII duty assignment, then moved to Lakewood, California. Sharon graduated from Lakewood High School in 1963, became a hairdresser, married, had two children, then divorced. She met Ken Scribner in 1975, they married in 1976. They soon moved to Thousand Oaks and Moorpark, CA for 30 years, then Arizona for 16 years (Gold Canyon and Scottsdale), returning to Santa Rosa Valley, CA (Ventura County) for 2 years.Ken, Sharon and the girls built 2 custom homes, and with business partner Dennis (Diane) Hotchkiss, created General Optics Inc, an optical manufacturing company in Moorpark CA. Sharon was construction overseer of our home building, and managed the company profit sharing accounts, all the while supporting daughters’ equestrian, sports and La Reina High School activities.
She loved our Rottweilers, horses and horseback riding. Her favorite hobby was shopping, which led her to becoming an avid collector. Christopher Radko ornaments, Disney memorabilia and Beanie Babies were her collecting passions.Sharon enjoyed Disneyland, ocean cruises, our sail boat in the San Diego Bay, Moorpark Rotary activities, golfing at Las Posas, Moorpark and Superstition Mountain Country Clubs. She and Ken piloted a 48 ft powerboat from the Great Lakes, through Canadian rivers and canals, to the Hudson River, past the Statue of Liberty to the Atlantic Ocean, and down the Atlantic coast via inland waterways to Florida - a nine month adventure. She enjoyed traveling as well: Mexico, Canada, Europe (especially Paris), African safari, Panama Canal transit and the Caribbean. She was a great cook, cooking student, and yes, cookbook collector!Sharon is survived by her husband Ken Scribner her two daughters Tina Arnold (April Killingsworth), Deana (Julio) Najera, her brother Richard (Shine) Hedesa, grandchildren Kenneth, Ever and Will. As well as family members Christy Snowden, Jason (Heather) Hedesa, Jake Hedesa, Cole Hedesa, Travis Hedesa, Bob (Jeanne) Scribner, Robert (Amali) Scribner, Benjamin Scribner, David Scribner, Eben Skip (Charlene) Scribner, Trevor (Bobbi) Scribner, Emma Scribner, William Knapp, Lois Wood and Evelyn Howe.A private memorial service will be held in Moorpark, CA on November 27, 2022."In lieu of flowers or tree planting, please consider a donation to the Multiple System Atrophy Coalitionmultiplesystematrophy.org .”
