Shawn Toyooka

December 26, 1987 — October 3, 2023

We mournfully announce the sudden loss of our beloved son and brother, Shawn Toyooka on Oct. 3, 2023. Shawn was only 35 years old when he went home to be with the Lord. Shawn born to Harry Toyooka and Anabel Alvarez, on Dec. 26, 1987 in Gilroy, CA. Shawn resided in Hollister, CA until he was 15 year old when his family relocated to Fillmore, CA.

Shawn attended and graduated from Fillmore High School and attended Ventura College.

Shawn’s biggest passion in life was music. An avid musician, he spent countless hours perfecting his ability. Shawn was a member of End Transmission and toured nationally with the band from 2009-2010. Shawn was a dynamic and talented musician with an unmatched passion for his hobby. When Shawn wasn’t playing the base, piano, or ukulele, he could be found running, hiking or boxing.

Shawn was passionate about his career as a physical therapist aide at Camarillo Healthcare Center, working for the company for thirteen years, with a recent promotion to Maintenance Director.

Shawn was an active member of New Life Oxnard, devoting his time and energy to the Life Recovery Program as the sound director and as a facilitator.

Everyone who knew Shawn knew how much he loved to run, take pictures, bake his famous peanut butter cupcakes, sing, play music and cheer for his favorite football team the Dallas Cowboys.

Shawn will always be remembered for his smile and the way he was passionate to help and serve others. We couldn’t have asked for a better son, brother, uncle, and friend. We’ll miss Shawn every day, his memory will live on in the hearts of all those who loved him.
